Introduction

Hello! Welcome to my new blog. If you are reading this, it's probably either because you like sports or you like me... and hopefully both! I am very excited to have a place to write down all the sports-related thoughts that go through my head: a sizable supply, given that I read through the ESPN app at least three times a day, paying special attention to the NBA, men's and women's tennis, college basketball and football, the NFL, the MLB, and the always exciting PGA Tour.  I check scores and standings for in-season sports daily (at the moment: tennis and baseball) and usually catch a few minutes of highlights for all the biggest events. I regularly glance through fivethirtyeight for a more analytical perspective (statistics really pop with some good ol' multicolored graphics!) and often spend idle time googling random athletes to learn more about their current stats and historical achievements. In short, I may not always know what I'm talking about, but I probably know what other people are! I'm subscribed to more sports notification services than I can handle, I watch big games live whenever I get the chance, and I even put up with Stephen A. Smith on First Take if I have absolutely no other options. Inspiration for what to write about should not be hard to come by.

A little about me: I'm a rising junior at Princeton University, studying economics and applied math. I carry a frisbee almost everywhere I go, and lately also tote around a ping-pong ball... you never know when you'll find a table with paddles but nothing to hit with them! I love games, especially chess and bridge, both of which I play competitively. As a proud Durhamite, I grew up loving Duke basketball and hating UNC -- my eighteenth birthday present was a ticket to the game at Cameron (we won) and I'll never forget the feeling. I played tennis and ultimate frisbee in high school and held my own at both while not dominating. I am right-handed.

And there you have it! Expect to hear about my sports-related thoughts as they come -- hopefully a nice mix of predictions, statistical analyses, hot takes, and excerpts about sports experiences in my life. Comments and suggestions are encouraged!

I've been playing a lot of frisbee golf (frolf) lately.

What a well-delivered cliff-hanger! More to come, and thanks for reading.
